Name Changes can be done for many reasons, including; return to prior or maiden name, change your child's name to that of the father, or change to the name you've always gone by. A Name Change takes about a month, gets published in the newspaper and costs about Five Hundred Eighty Five Dollars ($585.00)*, which includes my fee and costs. Please check to see if you are covered under a Legal Insurance Plan. If you are, then my fee may be paid for you.
The procedures of the Juvenile Court are very similar to adult courts, yet there are significant differences. Mr. Casey practices in the Juvenile Court on a regular basis and is familiar with its procedures. Please note that Juvenile Court acts faster than most other courts. Mr. Casey represents clients in both criminal (delinquency) and custody (depravation, reunification and termination). Mr. Casey's fee varies depending on the type of crime charged or the proceeding involved. Generally speaking, he charges a $1,000.00 retainer* (down payment), plus any costs that may apply. Please check to see if you are covered under a Legal Insurance Plan. If you are, then my fee may be paid for you.
Child Support matters come in two (2) forms; either your trying to get some child support or you have not paid child support. If you have not paid child support or they are attempting to establish a Child Support Order against you, then, generally speaking, Mr. Casey charges on a per item basis with a $1,500.00 retainer* (down payment) that is non-refundable, plus any costs involved. Mr. Casey charges differently than most other attorneys, he charges by the item, not by the hour. This means there is a list or menu of services with a cost associated with each item. An example would be if you telephone his office and speak with his assistant it is one fee, but if you insist on speaking with Mr. Casey it is a higher fee. The list or menu is agreed upon prior to Mr. Casey being retained. If you are trying to collect child support, Mr. Casey offers you a choice of either: paying him $150.00 per hour with a $1,500.00 retainer* (down payment) that is non-refundable, plus costs; or on a contingency wherein I receive one-third of whatever I collect, plus costs.
All other matters in the Domestic or Family Law field are done on an hourly basis. These matters are handled and charged on a case by case basis. Generally speaking, I charge $200.00 per hour with a $2,000.00 retainer* (down payment), plus costs.
